From boys to men

• Initiation is not only for boys but also for girls.
• Boys or girls are taken away from their families to be taught how to be men or women.
• Girls are taught womanhood and boys manhood.

Sesotho Cultural dress

Tradition and Dress

• Men wear blankets and carry a stick
• A man is the head of the family
• Women wear dresses made of a special material called Seshweshwe.
• Women prepare food while men watch over the cattle
• To show respect women kneel when they offer their men food
