MANDELA’S POEM
Aja and aja.

Freedom is coming.

They went to Mandela.
They asked for peace.

T hen Mandela said,
“Father they want excuses.
I will forgive them.”

Then we went.
We departed, and trusted them.

Then De Klerk said,
“D is for delivery.”
They delivered the goods.
They delivered expensive things.
“D is for dangerous.”

When I’m white, I’m innocent.
When I’m black, I’m dangerous.

D is for delivery.
D is for dangerous.
